Chablis Gallery is located in the historic gold rush town of Placerville, on Main Street at the corner of Center and Main. It is housed in a beautifully renovated old building formerly known as the Professional Building. The present building as been extensively remodeled with light walls and textured surfaces, the transformation has been amazing. Gallery visitors are greeted by the phenomenal “Sunday Drive bronze sculpture depicting a 1906 Pope Toledo auto being hauled by a farmer and his draft horse team after the family becomes hopelessly stuck! The creator, Montillier, has recreated real life scenes in many wonderful and bizarre bronzes including airplanes, Bugatti’s and Maserati’s replicas, free standing as well as revolving art pieces.....

Vigil's Collection
During Lilly Vigil's recent trip to her native state of New Mexico, she met with Miguel Martinez, an artist who's work she currently exhibits. Living in Taos and lining the adobe-walled studio adjacent to his home, his work features iconographic style and epitomizes the spirit and beauty of the feminine He is well known for his renderings of Madonna's and women in oils and pastels, Miguel draws inspiration from the Land of Enchantment. Lilly Vigil who was born in new Mexico, grew up in an environment rich in native art and culture. Pulling together the crafts and fine art of the Mestizo culture she has assembled a wonderful collection of work from well known as well as newly emerging artists whose works may be seen at Vigil's Collection, Nevada City. Vigil's Collection displays fine art, handmade gold and silver jewelry, textiles and pottery. |
