Snowshoe walks at Badger pass Ski Area are a wonderful way to experience Yosemite during snow season Park Rangers guide hikes to the top of Vernal and Nevada Falls via the winter route. Open from 9 am to 4:30 pm daily, ski and snowboarding enthusiasts may enjoy a full season of fun, breathtaking beauty and well groomed slopes at the only snowboard, downhill and cross-country ski area operating within a National Park. The Yosemite Winter Passport and Go For The Snow Packages will be available from January 2, through March 13, 2002 and purchased at the park lodges or Curry Village front desks, exclusively for guests staying at park accommodations, Sunday through Thursday. The packages include unrestricted lift tickets, Valley Floor Tours and ice skating sessions at a reduced rate.
Known for its gentle slopes and friendly staff, Badger pass offers ski and snowboard rentals and lessons for all ages and abilities from Yosemite's highly renowned Ski School. For cross-country skiers, 25 miles of groomed track and 90 miles of marked ski trails provide an outstanding Nordic skiing experience. A free Badger pass ski shuttle departs twice daily from Yosemite Valley from Curry Village, Yosemite Village, the Ahwahnee and Yosemite Lodge. Open for skating with weather permitting, the Curry Village Ice Rink has four sessions daily, beginning at 8:30 am and lasting until 9:30 PM Assorted hot drinks and snacks are available to keep guests toasty and warm.
