Big Bear Lake: Crisp air and spectacular scenery, a 7 mile lake with a wide range of accommodations and services.
Rim of the World Highway: A 40 mile scenic drive along Hwy 18 due north of San Bernardino. Reaching elevations of 5,000 to 7,000 feet, crests over the San Bernardino Mountains and through several rustic communities and resort areas.
Calico Mountains: Vivid with ever changing colors, their wild and lofty peaks are the result of ancient volcanic action. The wealth of silver mines brought early settlers to the mining town of Calico, today a mere host of the desert town.
Skiing is the popular wintertime sport in this area with Bear Mountain, Mountain High, Ski Sunrise, Snow Summit and Snow Valley, approximately 85 miles from Los Angeles.
