 It can be argued that it was Booker T. Jones who set the cast for modern soul music and is largely responsible for its rise and enduring popularity. 










ZZ Ward didn’t have to look far for inspiration on her second full-length album, 2017’s The Storm. Equally evocative of blues grit and hip-hop bounce, the Los Angeles-based vocal powerhouse and multi-instrumentalist leapt forward by taking a deeper look at some of her earliest inspirations—including Howlin’ Wolf, Robert Johnson, and Vera Ward Hall and Big Mama Thornton.

Notes for Notes is a non-profit organization that designs, equips, and staffs after-school recording studios inside Boys & Girls Clubs, offering youth the opportunity to explore, create, and record music for free.

The festival benefits the Polo Training Center Santa Barbara, as well as Notes For Notes, a non-profit organization dedicated to growth of music education for the youth.

The Santa Barbara Polo & Wine Festival, held at the beautiful Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club on Saturday September 8th, 2018, is the first of its kind in California. The festival combines polo, local wine, and music for a one-day experience that will be enjoyed by all who attend. This is a true celebration of Santa Barbara and Southern California living, whether one likes all the activities or only one or two of them. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to dress up in the style of the Richard Gere and Julia Roberts’ movie “Pretty Woman.” So come out to enjoy the sporting, wine and music in high style!
