Redding With an urban population, Redding ranks as the center for information in Northern California. At the northern edge of the Sacramento Valley and on the banks of the Sacramento River, which is joined here by 14 tributaries. Breathtaking surroundings nearby, the town is central to hiking and touring. Three miles west is an historical area at nearby Shasta State Historic Park and the town of Shasta.

Lassen Volcanic National Park Located 45 minutes east of Redding and Red Bluff. The park encompasses a remarkable wilderness area. Massive volcanic eruptions have left scarred terrain only from 80 years ago. A scenic 36 mile main road winds through conifer forest, lakes and hydrothermal areas of boiling mud pots and steaming vents. 150 miles of hiking trails, camping, fishing and boating facilities. Special naturalist activities throughout the summer months.

Yreka  In the far central north area of California, Yreka is in the heart of Siskiyou County. Nearby Klamath national Forest Interpretive museum holds an extensive collection of historical and natural history exhibits. The Yreka Blue Goose is the pride and joy of the Yreka Western Railroad and offers rides on a limited basis.

McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park One hour north of lassen Vocanic national park. The main Attractions are spectacular Burney Falls, a cascade over a 129 cliff into an emeral pool. *75 acre park open year round and offer 118 family launch facilities onto adjoining lake Britton.

Lava Beds National Monument This park contains a series of lava bed holes and caverns and flows and is a well known refuge of California Native Americans. Petroglyphgs are dated to over 2,000 years ago.

Quincy Horse trails and golf links, Quincy is on the edge of the Sierra Nevada. On Hwy 70/89 south of lake Almanor and Indian Valley, is a picturesque mountain town with a longtime lumber history.
