Born in Newark, New Jersey, author Robert A. Bellezza always had been attracted towards documenting first-hand explorations of historical Americana, both audibly, visually and early in life. He settled in Forestville, CA and became a bookstore owner 50 years ago, and spent equal time as a research archivist, publisher, author, musician and photographer, co-founding two magazines and authoring 6 books. During his 25-year media career with California Tour & Travel Magazine, he spent decades designing and editing a national coffee table magazine specifically for visitor centers, AAAs, and Barnes & Noble, targeting national advertisers. An original video production, The “Woodbridge Winery Harvest Tour”, produced in association with Robert Mondavi in 2007, documented the world’s largest selling wine label and is used in their international marketing campaigns. His series from 2012-13, included 5 vintage photography books on the Pioneers and Founders of California featuring the author’s images, vintage drawings, photographs and postcards as part of "Images of America”, published by Arcadia Publishing. The ground-breaking books premiered never-before-seen rediscovered 1920s black and white images of California's monumental missions with early landmark adobes and presidios.
